Singapore, day two
9/13 was a fun day. I did Singapore laksa for breakfast. Seemed a little peculiar as a breakfast meal, but it was an icy, tarty (and spicy) soup.
From there I did a GuruWalk tour. I usually do those in each city I visit, and it was interesting learning about Singapore’s past. I honestly didn’t know much about their history. I also purchased an ice cream from a Magnolia cart. They are discontinuing these in Singapore, so it was good to get it while I can. It was a slice of ice cream, served on bread of all things. A little peculiar, but nice for a hot day!
Post tour, I went out for chilli crab. It’s a Singapore specialty. Mine was a mud crab, and absolutely delicious.
After that, I went back to the hotel for a nap, before going out to Gardens by the Bay, where they were doing their autumn festival. They lit up the Supertrees, played some music, and some lanterns were in the exhibit.
Afterwards, I walked past Lau Pa Sat, and had to drop back in. I wasn’t too hungry because of the crab, but I decided to stick around for a little bit, had a couple beers and a couple satays.
